What Your Solicitor Helps to Protect Against
Student visas are refused most often for insufficient financial evidence or failure to demonstrate ties to the home country.
Weak Financial Evidence
Applications refused because funds are insufficient, poorly evidenced or incorrectly presented.
Home-Country Ties Gaps
Failure to demonstrate that you will return home after studies.
Wrong Visa Category
Applying under the incorrect student category for your course type.
Permission Gaps
Letting student permission expire before renewal is lodged.
Missed Appeal Windows
Losing the chance to appeal a refusal within the strict deadline.
No Post-Study Plan
Graduating without a plan for Stamp 1G, work permission or long-term residence.
We prepare applications that address the common refusal grounds clearly — because a refused application often means a missed academic year.

Meet Your Solicitor
Tamoor Barlas
Solicitor
I am a solicitor based in Dublin 15. Alongside my commercial practice, I advise individuals, families and businesses on Irish immigration pathways — from employment permits and residency through to family reunification and citizenship.
Relocation is more than a visa application. The people I advise are often making one of the most significant legal and financial decisions of their lives. I combine immigration counsel with tax and corporate insight so your move to Ireland is planned as a whole, not in isolated filings.
Because I practise as both a solicitor and a tax, I can advise on immigration status and the tax consequences of becoming Irish-resident in one engagement — reducing duplication and closing the gap between legal permission and financial planning.
“My job is to take the immigration and tax complexity off your hands — so you can focus on building your life in Ireland.”
Frequently Asked Questions
Most non-EEA nationals need a study visa. Some nationalities can enter without a visa but must register on arrival. EU/EEA and Swiss nationals do not need a visa. We confirm the correct process for your nationality.
You must show sufficient funds for tuition, living costs and return travel, usually with bank evidence covering the first year. We advise on the specific standard for your application.
Most Stamp 2 students at accredited institutions can work up to 20 hours in term and 40 hours in holiday periods. Stamp 2A has different rules. We advise on your specific rights.
Most refusals can be appealed within two months. We review the refusal reasons and prepare a strengthened appeal.
Stamp 1G lets qualifying graduates remain in Ireland for 12–24 months to seek work without a separate employment permit. Apply before student permission expires.
Student residence generally counts on a half-time basis toward naturalisation. Later work or Stamp 4 residence usually counts in full. We advise on your full residence history.
