Why Choose Wayfound

What makes us different — across every practice area.

Solicitor-Led Immigration Advice

A solicitor provides legal professional privilege — Revenue and immigration authorities cannot access your communications. And where a decision is wrong, we can take legal proceedings.

Correct Route from the Outset

Applying on the wrong route is the most common reason for refusal. We identify the correct category before any application is prepared.

Direct Solicitor Access

You deal with Tamoor directly throughout. You always know the status of your application and what happens next.

Long-Term Planning

We plan the full immigration pathway — from first permission to long-term residence and citizenship — so your future in Ireland is on solid legal ground.

Meet Your Solicitor

Tamoor Barlas

Solicitor

I am a solicitor based in Dublin 15. Alongside my commercial practice, I advise individuals, families and businesses on Irish immigration pathways — from employment permits and residency through to family reunification and citizenship.

Relocation is more than a visa application. The people I advise are often making one of the most significant legal and financial decisions of their lives. I combine immigration counsel with tax and corporate insight so your move to Ireland is planned as a whole, not in isolated filings.

Because I practise as both a solicitor and a tax, I can advise on immigration status and the tax consequences of becoming Irish-resident in one engagement — reducing duplication and closing the gap between legal permission and financial planning.

“My job is to take the immigration and tax complexity off your hands — so you can focus on building your life in Ireland.”

Frequently Asked Questions

You are not legally required to have a solicitor for an immigration application in Ireland — but having one significantly reduces the risk of refusal, ensures the correct route and category is used, and means that if a decision goes against you, you have access to the full range of legal remedies including judicial review.

The most common reasons for refusal differ by application type — but across all categories, the most frequent issues are applying on the incorrect route or category, insufficient or incorrectly presented financial evidence, insufficient evidence of the relationship (for family applications), failure to demonstrate ties to the home country (for visa applications), and incomplete documentation.

Yes, in most cases. The appeal process differs depending on the type of application and the decision-making body. Most visa refusals can be appealed to the Visa Appeals Officer within two months. Employment permit refusals can be reviewed internally and then appealed. IPAT decisions can be challenged by judicial review.

Processing times vary significantly by application type and current INIS/DETE workload. Critical Skills Employment Permit applications typically take 4-8 weeks. Family reunification applications can take 6-18 months. Citizenship by naturalisation applications are currently taking 18-24 months. Student visa applications typically take 4-8 weeks.

A visa is permission to enter Ireland — issued by an Irish Embassy or consulate abroad to nationals of visa-required countries. A permission (or leave) is the right to remain in Ireland after arrival — issued by the Irish immigration authorities (INIS) and evidenced by a stamp in your passport or an Irish Residence Permit (IRP) card.
